WILLIAM: Deep Creek Lake is Maryland's largest freshwater lake, 1,800 acre state park that's along the Deep Creek Lake.
Home to a wide variety of wildlife.
Fish, there's bass, perch, walleye.
Hard to believe there's beavers out here.
It was originally constructed in 1925 by the Youghiogheny Hydro Electric Corporation, and it was for rural electrification.
One of the things I really love about this area is the weather, actually.
In the summers, it's always like ten to 15 degrees cooler than central Maryland, low humidity, hard to not like the fact that there's really little mosquitoes here.
Activities at Deep Creek Lake, we have hiking, biking, fishing, boating, and then we even have amenities such as canoe and kayaking.
We provide rentals down on our beach area.
LAURITA: You don't want to take a dive off right here.
WES: I already got your guys', uh, kayaks and paddleboards already set down here.
LAUREN: Woo-hoo.
LAURITA: Thank you.
LAUREN: We are about to go paddleboarding!
LAURITA: Yes, we are.
LAUREN: Well, she's going kayaking.
LAURITA: Well, I'm not afraid of paddleboarding, but it's really windy today, and I've never had a lesson.
LAUREN: I've gone paddleboarding before, so it should be fun.
(whistling) LAURITA: Take this off.
Okay.
WES: When you get past the rock jetty, I want to ask that you only go left and then after that you're more than welcome to stand up if you'd like.
LAUREN: All right, let's go.
LAURITA: All right, girl.
(laughter) WES: All right.
LAUREN: I'm currently paddleboarding.
Oh, it did get wet.
Oh, no!
LAURITA: We've been paddling for a while now.
See my face?
(laughter) LAURITA: It's been a beautiful day on this beautiful lake and, um, got a little wet there, but you get wet when you're on the lake.
Alrighty.
